Project story
Rock, Snow, and a Real-World Test
Rock, Weather, and a Tight Timeline
This Buckley Steel Board project near Athol, Idaho was pretty straightforward in terms of layout—a large rectangle around a beautiful acreage with a horse pasture and horse pen in the back.
The challenge was everything underneath it.
There was a lot of nasty rock on this property, and we were working against a tight deadline to get the fence completed. We were setting posts in some pretty rough weather, too. Between the rock, snow, and time crunch, this one definitely kept us on our toes.
The customers were great to work with, and the straightforward layout helped us keep the project moving. They chose a four-rail black Buckley Steel Board fence, and it turned out really nice.
A Real-World Test
Later on, a windstorm came through the area, knocked down some trees, and bent a number of the fence rails.
While that's certainly not something you want to happen, it gave us a good real-world example of one of the advantages of the Buckley system: the rails can be replaced without resetting the posts.
To replace the damaged rails, simply remove the caps, slide the locking spacers out of the posts, pull the damaged rails out, and slip the new rails into place.
A Simple Fence That Fits the Property
The finished fence provided a clean boundary around the horse pen and shelter.
Sometimes the most straightforward fence projects still come with plenty of challenges. In this case, it was rock, snow, and a tight timeline—but the Buckley Steel Board system and our team pulled through with flying colors.
