From Post Falls to Goldendale: Family, Friends, and Fence
Road Trip to Goldendale
When we got the call to build a fence in Goldendale, Washington, Jacob and I packed up our wives, kids, and some of the younger guys on the team and hit the road.
Jacob pulled the equipment, and I took a trailer to haul the materials.
Conveniently, Noble Panels and Gates is located near Walla Walla, Washington, so I was able to stop there first, load up the materials, and then continue on toward Goldendale.
From Walla Walla, we headed down the river through Umatilla before eventually making our way to Goldendale.
We checked into our hotel in Goldendale, which was only a short drive from the project. That allowed us to work during the day and come back to the hotel at night.
A Beautiful 750-Foot Noble Contour Fence
This wasn't a huge project, but the approximately 750 feet of four-rail Noble Contour made a beautiful addition to the property.
The fence lined both sides of the driveway coming in, then continued along one of the pastures for a ways. As with almost any place, a sharp looking rail fence lining the driveway really dresses it up.
One of the things we really like about Noble Contour is how long-lasting it is. It's made from Gatorshield galvanized, high-tensile, high-carbon steel, giving it the durability to last for 50+ years.
For a fence made from this quality of steel, the price point is also very reasonable.
A Little Rock Didn't Stop Us
The project itself was relatively uneventful, especially compared to some of the jobs we've taken on.
This was before we had our Mud Hog mixer and before we knew how to set posts using a concrete truck, so all the concrete was mixed by hand in wheelbarrows.
We knew how to do it, though, and we made it work.
Possibly the biggest challenge was some nasty rock we ran into on a couple of holes. With the help of a local guy with a rock drill and a welder, we were able to work through it and get everything finished up nicely.
