Project story

2,200 Feet of Priefert Estate Fence on a North Idaho Ranch

Built for a Working Ranch

The customer fell in love with the look of the Priefert Estate fence—the black octagonal posts with dome tops and smooth pipe rails create a clean, upscale appearance that really makes the property's entrance stand out.

But this wasn't just about looks. The fence also needed to be strong enough for cattle and working pens.

The 13-gauge rails, combined with 5-rail construction, provide a substantial system for the ranch's working areas. We used 8-foot post spacing in the working pens for added strength, while using 10-foot spacing in the pastures to balance strength, appearance, and cost.

Incorporating Existing Gates

One unique part of this project was incorporating several heavy-duty gates the customer already owned.

With some careful planning and ingenuity, Jacob was able to integrate the existing gates into the new fencing, creating a finished look that fit naturally with the rest of the project.

A Fence Worth Coming Back For

The customer liked the finished fence so much that he scheduled us to return the following year to build additional fencing.

Projects like this are where a beautiful rail fence really shines. It provides the strength needed for a working ranch while adding a polished look, improving the entrance, and dressing up the entire property.
